Keep up with the latest news within Alzheimer´s research – this summary is a great start!

In late October, the Knowable Magazine news site featured a summary on the review publication “Update on Alzheimer's Disease Therapy and Prevention Strategies”, to highlight the latest research in the field, history and challenges facing both research, society and the individual affected by the disease.

Thomas Sakmar, photo: Bildmakarna. The summary article touches upon subjects such as drugs and prevention, tau, the amyloid hypothesis and not to forget, the road ahead.

The scientific article making up the basis for the summary is co-authored by Thomas Sakmar, Visiting Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) and active at the Rockefeller University. The lead author of the article, Vallen Graham, was a Nicholson Visiting Scientist at NVS in 2012.

“We are delighted that our article in Annual Reviews of Medicine is achieving broad readership, especially since we argue that more collaboration among all stakeholders is required to bring new biomedical advances into the clinic,” Thomas Sakmar says.

So, to learn more about what has been going on within the research field during the past year, check out the article on the Knowable Magazine web site.
