Katarina Bälter granted funding from Formas
Katarina Bälter, senior lecturer at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics has been granted a three year research grant from the Swedish Research Council Formas.
The project is "Diet-related greenhouse gas emissions in Sweden" and its overall aim is to estimate diet-related greenhouse gas emissions and intake of nutrients in a population-based study. The specific aims are: to estimate the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from individually assessed dietary data, estimate the intake of nutrients from diets low and high in greenhouse gas emissions, respectively, and compare the intake of nutrients to the official Nordic Nutritional Recommendations and estimate the magnitude of greenhouse gas emission reduction achieved by substituting food products with high greenhouse gas emissions with food products with low emissions.
