Katarina Bälter awarded funding from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond
Katarina Bälter, senior lecturer at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, has been awarded a sabbatical grant from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond to conduct research on food, environment and health at Stanford.
The role of food and agricultural systems on climate change has been highlighted on the political and scientific agenda in recent years. Approximately 25-30 % of the global greenhouse gas emissions originate from production and distribution of food. Different food products, and thus also diets, are associated with various levels of greenhouse gas emissions. Such transition would influence the society in various ways as well as have potential public health implications.
The result will be beneficial for the general public and potentially improve public health in Sweden and worldwide.
