Karolinska Institutet remains highly ranked

Also in the 2012 Academic Ranking of World Universities presented by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Karolinska Institutet is highly ranked, this year as number 42. The five most highly ranked universities are Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Berkeley and Cambridge.

The universities are also ranked in their respective fields. In the field of Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy KI is number 11 in the world and number 2 in Europe. In the field of Life and Agriculture Sciences KI is ranked as number 18 in the world and number 3 in Europe.

The Shanghai ranking is based on a number of research attributes as the number of Nobel Prizes awarded, citations in scientific journals and publications in journals with high impact factors.
