Johan Fritzell new director at the Aging Research Center

As of October 1, the new director of the Aging Research Center (ARC) is Johan Fritzell, professor and head of the social gerontology group at ARC. Laura Fratiglioni is after 10 years as the Director of ARC stepping down.

"I am honoured to be appointed as the new Director of ARC. It is a challenging and stimulating task and my overall aim is that ARC will continue to be a centre with cutting-edge research on ageing", says Johan Fritzell.

Laura Fratiglioni will continue working at ARC as head of the medical group, PI of the SNAC-K population study, and NEAR (National E-infrastructure in Aging Research).

"To summarize the time being a director of ARC, I would say that it has been fantastic and stimulating, like driving a Ferrari", says Laura Fratiglioni.

New deputy director at ARC is professor Kristina Johnell, replacing Bengt Winblad, as of October 1.
