Hong kong delegation visited Karolinska Institutet
C Y Leung, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, visited Karolinska Institutet on 12 May in connection with visiting Sweden. The delegation was received by Vice Chancellor Anders Hamsten, who gave a presentation of two potential areas for cooperation with Hong Kong, namely regenerative medicine and innovation.
Rune Fransson, director of innovation and infrastructure at Karolinska Institutet has been invited and visited Hong Kong on several occasions. He demonstrated the KI innovation system to the Hong Kong delegation.
During their visit to KI, the delegation also learned more about the research platforms at SciLifeLab (Science for Life Laboratory). The Hong Kong Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, Janet Wong, will return to KI on 14 May for an exchange on innovation and innovation systems.
KI has central agreements with several Hong Kong universities, including student exchange agreements for medicine and physiotherapy studies. There is also an exchange agreement regarding third-cycle students. On 26 May KI will receive a group of representatives from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with which KI is currently discussing exchange agreements for other degree programmes as well.
