Faculty Funded Career Positions and Consolidator grant to MedS

Karolinska Institutet's (KI) committee for research decided in November 2021 on funding within KI's recruitment and consolidation program (the "career ladder"). The purpose of the program is to recruit and support prominent junior researchers who have particularly excellent scientific credentials and future potential.

Among many applicants, a total of 24 researchers received funding and as many as six people here with us at the Department of Medicine, Solna (MedS).

Funding as Assistant Professor
Of 76 applicants, eight received funding, whereof two persons at MedS:

Neda Razaz

The candidates will receive up to 1.0 million SEK per year over six years to be used for own salary. Additionally, 1.0 million SEK will be available for the awarded applicants as a startup contribution for research.

Funding as Senior Researcher for two years:
Of the 33 applicants, eight received funding, whereof two persons at MedS:
Magdalena Paolino
Taras Kreslavskiy

The candidates will receive 1.0 million SEK per year over two years to be used for own salary.

The Consolidator grant
Of the 65 applicants, eight received funding, whereof two persons at MedS:
Taras Kreslavskiy
Björn Pasternak

The candidates will receive up to 1.2 million SEK per year over five years to be used for own salary. Up to 50 percent may be used for research related costs.
