Eva Hellström Lindberg awarded José Carreras Award
The award was presented June 10 at the European Hematology meeting in Copenhagen and is the largest hematology award in Europe. At the meeting Eva also held the lecture Targeting the anemia of myelodyplastic syndromes.
The jury's motivation:
“The European Hematology Association has the honour of presenting the José Carreras – EHA Award 2016 to Eva Hellström Lindberg. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to translational and clinical research into the pathogenesis and treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).”

Eva Hellström Lindberg is Professor of hematology at the Department of Medicine, Huddinge, and head of Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM). Her research focuses on the hemopoietic stem cell malignancy myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and include genetic, epigenetic, and cellular studies. More about the research group.
