Do you want to be involved in the recruitment of professors and senior lecturers at KI?

The Faculty Board is now inviting notices of interest for the positions of chairperson and vice-chairperson and for the two ordinary members. The responsibility of the Recruitment Committee is to prepare KI’s employment procedures for the positions of professor, visiting professor, adjunct professor, senior lecturer, adjunct senior lecturer and for promotions from assistant professor to senior lecturer. The Committee also prepares the procedural instructions for employment of tea

The Recruitment Committee has ten members.

  • Four members proposed by the Faculty Board for decision by the president: chairperson, vice-chairperson and two ordinary members
  • Six members appointed by KI’s three committees, two from each committee. These six candidates are not included in this notice of interest procedure
  • Three student representatives
  • Two union representatives (without voting rights)

About the process
The Faculty Board proposes four candidates, one each for the positions chairperson and vice-chairperson and two ordinary members. The president decides which candidates are to fill these positions.

The committees for Research, Higher Education and Doctoral Education appoint two members each, making a total of six candidates.

Notice of interest in membership of Recruitment Committee 

Roles
As a member of the Recruitment Committee, you will take part in the work of the Recruitment Committee at and between meetings through a variety of workgroups. The chairperson of the Committee leads its work at such times and supports the HR specialists who prepare the required documentation. The vice-chairperson prepares and participates in the meetings of the committee and stands in for the chairperson when he/she is unable to attend.

Competence and experience
Applicants must be a professor at KI, be active in research and education and  have a thorough knowledge of KI’s research and education activities. Applicants must also have good experience of assessing applications to academic positions or similar.

The assignment includes assessing applications and conducting interviews in both Swedish and English. Satisfactory knowledge and skills in both languages are therefore required.

Duration and remuneration
The assignments run from 1 September 2023 to 31 December 2026.

Remuneration is paid in the form of a salary bonus and compensation to the relevant department in accordance with the instructions relating to remuneration  for specific assignments (in Swedish).

Notice of interest
Your notice of interest must include:

  • Reasons why you are interested in the assignment (max half A4 page)
  • CV (two pages), including your current position and relevant qualifications for the assignment, including educational assignments
  • List of ten selected publications

Please specify if you are interested in the position of chairperson and/or vice-chairperson.

Process workgroup
The Faculty Board has appointed a workgroup to oversee the process, comprising Christer Höög (dean), Ewa Ehrenborg (academic vice president), Catharina Larsson (faculty representative) and Daniel Söderberg (student representative).
