Dissertation 7 Dec 2018: Haomin Yang

On Friday Dec 7 Haomin Yang will defend his thesis "Panorama of diseases associated with breast cancer". Professor Lars Holmberg from King’s College London and Uppsala University will be his opponent. Haomin's supervisors are Kamila Czene, Per Hall, Judith Brand and Wei He.

Haomin's thesis focuses on breast cancer, which is the most common cancer in women. The prevalence of breast cancer has steadily increased in recent decades, exposing surviving women to other associated diseases which can influence carcinogenesis, prognosis, and treatment. Haomin's thesis uses Swedish register data, combined with data from the Libro-1 and Karolinska Mammography Project for Risk Prediction of Breast Cancer (KARMA) cohorts, to study other diseases associated with breast cancer in women.
