Call for operational support for core facilities 2025–2028
Karolinska Institutet (KI) and Region Stockholm prioritize central investment in core facilities for research. The Infrastructure Board and the Research Council provide funding resources in regular cycles. Operating funds for the next four years, 2025-2028, have been announced in 2024.
The call is aimed broadly at current and future core facilities within KI and Region Stockholm.
New features in this call:
- Flexibility in grant duration and possible adjustment of the grant level after two years.
- Funds for depreciation of instruments are applied for as part of the operating support.
- Resources for co-financing national infrastructures are not covered by the call.
Grants can only be applied for core facilities that charge user fees.
The core facility manager can normally apply for an operating grant for four years. Managers of new core facilities or of core facilities with a declining user base can also choose to apply for an operating grant for two years with the possibility of applying for a new grant after the end of the grant period.
Application
The application is made in KI Prisma and can be written in Swedish or English. The application period is between 26 February at 10.00 and 9 April at 14:00.
