Call for central funding of core facilities 2022-2024

In February 2021, it is time to apply for central funding for operational costs of core facilities during the period 2022–2024. It will also be possible to apply for extra funding of particularly expensive equipment. In all, almost SEK 400 million will be invested in research infrastructure through this call.

Investments in joint research infrastructure have become increasingly important in order to cope with national and international competition in the life sciences – and are also an important part of KI's Strategy 2030. The current call is co-financed with Region Stockholm and has a broad scope, targeting current and future core facilities within KI's and Region Stockholm's entire operations.

The call for funding will include:

  • Operational costs for core facilities, including costs for depreciation of equipment during the period 2022-2024 according to certain criteria.
  • Funds for the purchase of expensive equipment over the cost of SEK 2.5 million for those core facilities receiving operational funding.

The application will this time be submitted in KI Prisma. The application period opens on 17 February 2021 at 10 am and ends on 23 March 2021 at 2 pm. The application process is administrated by the Infrastructure Council with the support by the Faculty Office at KI.
