Are you a doctoral student at KI who needs to find a mentor? Consider joining this workshop to learn about using information interviews to connect with your future mentor.

A good question can lead to a good answer, which in turn can turn into a conversation and even into a professional relationship with the person you are talking to. If you are looking for a mentor, some well prepared questions might just pave the way to finding one.

In this workshop you learn how to prepare an informational interview and how to ask good questions. These skills also come in handy when you are looking for your next position, when you talk to other scientists at conferences or simply want to know more about a topic or a person.

Informational interviews are a great tool not only for journalists but also for scientists! Join this workshop to learn more.

About the speaker

A bit more than a decade ago, Natalie von der Lehr dropped the pipette and grabbed a pen instead. She is now a freelance science journalist and communicator working with a variety of science communication. She writes articles about science politics and popular science, produces podcasts and creates content for social media.  She also coaches scientists who want to work on their communication skills, for example the PhD students and postdocs who contribute the the KI researchers blog.

Natalie completed a PhD in Molecular Genetics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in 2003 and was a postdoc at Karolinska Institutet before going back to school to become a science journalist.
