Abstract
The early evolution of the Universe and Life was definitely ruled by quantum mechanics. This is still true for the microscopic world of matter and radiation, but what about biology and Life? During the last 15 years, Quantum Biology has addressed the possibility of quantum physics affecting life process beyond biochemistry in terms of large-scale coherence and entanglement, even to the levels of cognition and consciousness. In this talk I will outline some basic aspects of quantum physics and its role for the molecules of Life. The goal is to promote what I consider to be a useful picture of Quantum Physics and Life where low-level quantum physics is connected to higher-level classical physics through a network of networks. Using quantum/nano/biotechnologies, knowledge at the classical levels can be fed back to quantum levels, which may ultimately change the direction of evolution.
