The aim of these CPD webinars (Continuing professional development) is to follow the legal requirements for maintenance and demonstration of competence in laboratory animal science, and to facilitate the implementations of the 3R’s in routine animal work.

A number of factors can make performing surgical techniques on mice inherently challenging. This talk will discuss pre, intra and post-operative best practices that will enhance outcomes when performing mouse surgery. We will cover basic tenants of mouse surgery such as asepsis and analgesia as well as several more advanced concepts that have recently emerged in the literature.
