Lectures and seminars Understanding Suicide in the United States in a Global Context
Dr. Jill Harkavy-Friedman of Columbia University has been invited to speak in the online series of Suicide Seminars. The title of the seminar is “Understanding Suicide in the United States in a Global Context.”
Dr. Jill Harkavy-Friedman is the Senior Vice President of Research for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry at Columbia University. She has more than 35 years of experience as a clinician and researcher and has worked to translate suicide prevention research into clinical practice. Her own research has focused on suicidal behavior among adolescents and adults. She has published more than 100 research articles and was the first researcher to ask high school students about suicidal ideation and behavior.
The Centre for Psychiatry Research at Karolinska Institutet is presenting a series of online seminars to shed light on the complex topic of suicide. Featuring guest speakers who are leading experts in their fields from all over the world, the goal is to bring forth different perspectives and spark conversations. The series is curated by Professor Christian Rück.
