About the speakers:
Dr Amy Turner attained her PhD in structural and molecular biology from the University of Leeds. This focused on developing the utility of Affimer reagents (non-antibody binding proteins) in streamlining the drug discovery pipeline, specifically targeting cancer associated proteins namely KRAS, and PAK5.
Leveraging her expertise in structural biology and the cancer field, Amy transitioned from academia to industry and is now a Scientific Marketing Specialist for the life science reagent company, Proteintech. Here, she leads a European field marketing representative scheme providing postgraduate researchers with industry acumen alongside their studies, whilst implementing strategic marketing activities across a breadth of research areas; cancer, immunology, neuroscience etc.
As a Scientific Marketing Specialist, Amy also delivers immunoassay workshops, and creates content that resonates with Proteintech’s diverse research audiences - detailed product guides, blog posts, protocol videos, webinars, and podcasts.
Dr Elena Hoffer completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology before pursuing a PhD in Immunology at Karolinska Institutet, which she successfully defended at the end of 2023. Immediately after, she founded her own company, Alma.me dedicated to supporting PhDs in their transition from academia to non-academic careers.
In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Elena is a LinkedIn content creator—ranked as one of Swedens top LinkedIn content creators by Favikon—where she shares daily insights and guidance on navigating career transitions.”
