Title: Parental socioeconomic status and asthma in childhood

Brief description

The relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and paediatric lung disease has been of interest for several decades. Socioeconomic status (sometimes referred to as social position) is often defined using education, income, or occupation and the relationship between parental socioeconomic status in early childhood and later disease in childhood is of particular interest.  In this seminar I will give an overview of the current understanding on the relationship between SES and paediatric lung disease (focusing on asthma and cystic fibrosis) and how family design has been used in one of my Phd projects to further our understanding of the relationship between parental SES and asthma in childhood.
