Lectures and seminars StratNeuro Seminar: “Specification of neuronal circuits and neuronal plasticity by transcript isoforms”

Peter Scheiffele is a Professor at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel, Switzerland. His research explores how neuronal circuits are assembled during development of the mammalian central nervous system. His work uncovered key roles for cell surface signals and alternative RNA splicing programs in synapse specification. His group attempts to leverage insights into synaptic, circuit, and behavioral alterations caused by autism- associated mutations to develop therapeutic interventions.
