The Department of Global Public Health, in collaboration with Center for Epidemiology and Community Medicine at Karolinska Institutet, invites you to the upcoming lecture in the Stockholm Public Health Lectures series. The topic of the lecture is the increase in violence and psychological distress in youth throughout the world.

In this seminar, we will discuss the simultaneous increase in violence and psychological distress in youth throughout the world, from the epidemiology of adversity and new forms of socialization to intervention and prevention in schools and clinical settings.

Speaker

Cécile Rousseau is professor at McGill University, Montreal Canada and holds a Canada Research Chair in the prevention of violent radicalization. She has worked extensively with immigrant and refugee communities, developing specific school based interventions and leading policy oriented research.

The lecture series focuses on key topics in the area of public health, as well as issues that concern the planning and commissioning of healthcare. The lectures are held in English, free to attend, and targeted to a broad audience. Stockholm Public Health Lectures is held twice per semester.
