Lectures and seminars Stockholm Public Health Lecture: Health of girls and women across the lifespan
Together with the Center for Epidemiology and Community Medicine, the Department of Global Public Health invites you to this fall's open lecture on girls' and women's health across the lifespan, spanning both adolescence and menopause. The lecture will feature two speakers on the topic of women's sexual and reproductive health and will be followed by a panel discussion on gender equality.
Sexual and reproductive health is important throughout life, and many adolescent girls and women experience various problems over a lifetime. We know that women's sexual and reproductive health is different in different groups, as is the seeking of care and the treatments provided. For example, women with a high level of education and income are more likely to receive care for problems related to common women's diseases, compared to women with less education and low income. Disparities in sexual and reproductive health are also evident when comparing different geographical areas in Stockholm County.
The sexual and reproductive health of teenage girls and young women will be the theme of Professor Inger Sundström Poromaa, Department of Women's and Children's Health, Reproductive Health, Uppsala University. The title of the lecture: Menstrual problems - common and costly.
