Dr Salo is currently a postdoc in Dr Julia Mahamid’s lab at EMBL Heidelberg, Germany, where he focuses on combining advanced cell biological and cryo-correlative light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) methodologies to decipher the nanoscale architecture of organelle biogenesis in the endoplasmic reticulum of human cells.
Dr Salo completed his MD studies at the University of Helsinki, Finland, where he also earned his PhD in Dr Elina Ikonen’s lab, researching intracellular lipid fluxes and developing new methods for tracing fatty acids.
