Lectures and seminars Scientist Shows Art at The Cell

Welcome to "Scientist shows art" with Janina Seubert, research group leader at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience. She will talk about how our senses, especially smell, taste and sight, influence appetite and food cravings.
Appetite is a fundamental function for our survival, but what happens when the motivation to eat disappears, even though we know how important it is?
In Scientist shows art during the period May-December 2025, experts from Karolinska Institutet will share knowledge from research in medicine and health, linked to artworks in the Me part of the exhibition series Me, You, We - Exploring Human Behavior.
First up is Janina Seubert, a researcher at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience. Her research sheds light on the complex connections between multisensory perception and mental health, and is at the intersection of biology, psychology and neuroscience. Through her work, we gain insight into how our senses shape our emotions and behaviors and how art can help us understand what is otherwise difficult to put into words.
