Purpose
To support familiarization with critical qualitative health research methods, specifically critical discourse analysis as an approach to critically deconstruct the discursive shaping of social issues that affect people's health, such as long-term unemployment, the extension of working lives, and precarious aging.
Content
- Igniter/introduction addressing critical discourse analysis (CDA) as a research methodology, addressing foundational concepts, assumptions, processes, and discussion of textual examples,
- Discussion of research examples, applying CDA to deconstruct the individualization of social problematics,
- Wrap up discussion about applying CDA within specific research fields.

The programme for doctoral education in health care science (PUF-V) provides a range of learning activities for doctoral students within the specific research theme of health care science. The courses and other activities offered by the programme are open to all doctoral and post-doctoral students at Swedish universities and also offers great opportunities for networking.
