Lectures and seminars Research Meeting – with HIV and liver disease in Focus
Warmly welcome to an afternoon of presentations and discussions on liver and metabolic health in people living with HIV.
Liver Fibrosis and Steatosis during HIV infection
Chronic progressive liver disease is an important cause of morbidity and non-HIV related mortality among people with HIV (PWH). Liver steatosis and fibrosis are important contributors to end stage liver disease. During this research related meeting we will address this important topic.
The meeting will start with an update on steatotic liver disease, thereafter Professor Thomas Benfield and Magnus Søltoft Lindgardt from Copenhagen University Hospital will discuss management and bringing examples from the Danish cohort.
After these presentations Karolinska and Venhälsan will present data from their own cohorts focused on metabolic health, liver fibrosis and steatosis during HIV infection.
This meeting is organised by Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital and Gilead Sciences Sweden.
