SFOepi Workshop with Professor Matthew Fox, Boston University
Welcome to attend a SFOepi workshop: Quantitative Bias Analysis with application to issues of misclassification with Professor Matthew Fox from Boston University
Abstract: Systematic error often dominates the uncertainty about an estimate but is rarely quantified. Methods for quantitative bias analysis (QBA) provide a methodology for assessing the impact of bias on study results by making assumptions about the bias parameters and allows for assessment of both the direction and magnitude of systematic error.
A more complete assessment of total study error is provided and reduces the chances of inferential errors. Such analyses allow to go beyond speculation about the bias and can be a powerful tool for quantifying the impact of such biases. The workshop will introduce the available methods for the case of bias due to misclassification.
