Interaction between science and culture is essential to a university. Cultural, as well as interprofessional and cross-disciplinary activities bring students and employees together, and contribute to a "we-feeling" and broadened perspectives. Medical science traces its roots to both the humanities and the natural sciences.

In accordance with this spirit, KI's Cultural Council annually merits one or more people at KI, whose valuable efforts have promoted the meeting between culture and science, both within the cultural sphere at KI and/or in its interaction with society. This applies to activities in education and/or research. This award can be given to a student, teacher, researcher or other person employed at or affiliated with KI, or to an alumni or an organization affiliated with KI.
