Title
“The never-ending quest for metabolic homeostasis in neurons through the lens of mitochondria”
Further Reading
Mitochondria are dynamic organelles essential for neuron function and survival. The axonal transport of mitochondria is believed to support mitochondrial turnover at synapses and maintain axonal integrity. However, the mechanisms regulating local and long-range mitochondrial transport within specific sub compartments are not well understood. Dr Motori’s research aims to investigate the reciprocal regulation of mitochondrial motility and compartment-specific synaptic functions through a combination of imaging and genetic approaches.
