Speaker: Senior researcher Niklas Rossbach, from the Swedish Institute of International Affairs. Rossbach focuses on strategic resources, and he is Sweden's prime expert in Rare Earth Minerals.

A rare Earth Mineral is a mineral that contains one or more of the 17 rare earth elements: the 15 lanthanides, plus scandium and yttrium. These elements are used in many modern technologies, including smartphones, electric vehicle motors, and renewable energy systems. While the elements themselves are not necessarily rare, they are often found dispersed in low concentrations and are difficult to mine and extract economically. Lately Rare Earth Minerals have been a topic of intense debate.

As usual the presentation will be followed by a conversation with the host, Jonas Ludvigsson, and our guest.
