Karolinska Institutet offers the fully online Master's Courses in Dementia Care for Physicians—a unique training program that covers a broad spectrum of topics, from the latest research, diagnosis, and treatment to organisational models for dementia care.
The program is offered in collaboration with Stiftelsen Silviahemmet, and participants who successfully complete the training earn the title of Silvia Doctor. Graduates receive a diploma and an official pin of completion, presented by H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden at a special ceremony.

Speakers

Miia Kivipelto
Miia Kivipelto is Professor of Clinical Geriatric Epidemiology at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society. Miia Kivipelto has been the recipient of numerous prizes. In 2009 she was awarded the Academy of Finland Award for Social Impact, and in 2011 the Junior Chamber International Award as Outstanding Young Person, in Finland and Internationally. She is also Director for Research and Development of Theme Aging at Karolinska University Hospital.

Dorota Religa
Professor in geriatrics, Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society at Karolinska Institutet, Consultant / Specialist doctor in geriatrics. She has been clinically active since 2005 at Karolinska University Hospital, where she is currently Consultant for the Inflammation and Ageing Theme.

Björn Strindberg Lennhed
Currently employed as Consultant at the Department of Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine, Falu Hospital, Sweden. Clinical work at the outpatient clinic involves dementia investigations and cognitive rehabilitation. Organisational level work regarding dementia care with national authorities like National board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen). Former graduate and now teacher of the Master's Courses in Dementia Care for Physicians.
