About the speaker
Stephanie Bonn is a nutritional epidemiologist and an assistant professor at the Division of Clinical Epidemiology, Department of Medicine Solna, Karolinska Institutet. Her research focuses on epidemiological studies on associations between dietary intake, physical activity and body weight and different outcomes including cancer (prostate and kidney), cardiovascular disease, Parkinson’s disease and mortality, and how mHealth (mobile health) can be utilized to support healthy lifestyle habits in different patient groups.
Seminar description
mHealth and the use of digital solutions offer adaptable platforms for the delivery of self-management interventions. Smartphone applications provide patients with an easily accessible tool for delivery of information as well as self-monitoring of for example physical activity and diet. During the seminar Stephanie will present her work on three randomized controlled trials evaluating different mHealth solutions designed to promote physical activity and a healthy diet in patients with type 2 diabetes and physical activity after bariatric surgery.
