Other Life Science Bar: Time to put away the sleeping pills?

Welcome to the first Life Science Bar of the autumn at The Cell. During an insightful evening, at the intersection of science and art, we will explore sleep deprivation and what can be done about it. This event will be held in Swedish.
In 2024, more than 870,000 people in Sweden obtained prescription sleeping pills from pharmacies, and among young people, the use of sleeping pills has increased significantly. This is despite questions about the effectiveness and long-term effects of these drugs. Instead, researchers recommend psychological treatment in the form of CBT for insomnia, which is just as effective in the short term and better in the long term.
