Nuclear actin and Myosin in 3D Genome Organization and Gene Expression regulation

Speaker

Professor PierGiorgio Percipalle, the New York University Abu Dhabi campus. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Professor Percipalle is a pioneer in our understanding of how nuclear actin and myosin collaborate to modulate the expressivity and organization of the genome. From being an initial  provocative statement, we now know thanks to the work of professor Percipalle that cytoplasmic proteins associated with contractile functions also have fundamental roles in the nucleus. His contributions thus have wide ranging influence on our understanding of the dynamics of the transcriptional process and how it relates to the nuclear architecture in development and disease.
