Conferences and symposiums KI Culture day 2024: Perception in focus: arts, science and human experience
The KI Culture Day is the annual celebration of the fertile link between medical science and culture. It is a unique combination offering popular science and cultural entertainment, including talents studying/working at KI, science at KI, as well as invited guests. The venue is the Medical Students’ Union (MF).

16:15 - 16:35 Introduction to Perception – Mats J Olsson (Head of Clinical Neuroscience), Mats Lekander (Professor of Clinical Neuroscience), Evelina Thunell (Research Specialist in Clinical Neuroscience)
16:35 - 17:05 Perception and Music: Conversation with Magnus Lindgren (Saxaphone, Flute) and John Beasley (Piano) winner of the 65th Grammy Award 2023. Discussion with Magnus and John.
Magnus Lindgren is an internationally recognized Swedish jazz musician and composer. His main instruments are saxophone, flute, and clarinet, and he has performed with a number of internationally recognized musicians, including Herbie Hancock, Marie Fredriksson, Barbara Hendricks, and David Foster.
Experienced pianist John Beasley from Louisiana, U.S.A., has played with, among others, Freddie Hubbard and Sergio Mendes.
17:05 - 17:20 Awarding of Karolinska Institutet’s Culture Prize 2024
17:20 - 17:50 Jojje Wadenius (guitar and vocals) Returns to Karolinska Institutet
Georg "Jojje" Wadenius has worked as a guitarist in Blood, Sweat & Tears and, among others, in the house band for the legendary TV show Saturday Night Live, in Simon & Garfunkel’s band during their reunion tour, and with Donald Fagen and Steely Dan.
