Other Invitation: Nominations for the 2023 award for the promotion of culture and science at KI (Dnr 2-1919/2023)
All employees, affiliated employees, students and alumni at KI are encouraged to nominate candidates for the 2023 award for the promotion of culture and science at KI, together with a short motivational text
KI strives to integrate science with culture in order to enrich everyday activities and strengthen KI's importance for societal development (see the KI vision Strategy 2030). KI has a responsibility to act as a driving force for the dissemination of and dialogue about knowledge in society.
Interaction between science and culture in various forms is essential to a university. Cultural, as well as interprofessional and cross-disciplinary activities bring students and employees together, and contribute to a "we-feeling" and broadened perspectives. Medical science, like the art of medicine, traces its roots to both the humanities and the natural sciences.
According to this spirit, KI's Cultural Council annually pays attention to one or more people at KI, whose valuable efforts have promoted the meeting between culture and science, both within the cultural sphere at KI and/or in its interaction with society. This applies to activities in education and/or research.
The award can be given to a student, teacher, researcher or other person employed at or affiliated with KI, or to an alumni or an organization affiliated with KI. All employees, affiliates, students and alumni at KI are invited to nominate candidates with a short written motivation. The recipient is appointed by KI's Cultural Council. Therefore, members of the Cultural Council cannot be appointed as recipients. Previous recipients wer: Jan Lindsten (2020), Carol Tishleman (2021), Fredrik Ullén (2022).
The award consists of an original work of art and a diploma. This year's "KI Culture Prize" is awarded in connection with KI's recurring Culture Day or similar solemn occasion.
Nominations are sent to the Registrar (email@example.com), enter diary number 2-1919/2023. The nomination must contain a short justification
