Impact in terms of number of citations is a commonly known impact factor in academia and an important tool to measure the spread of your knowledge. However, both within academia and beyond, there is a rising interest in impact in terms of positive benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy, health services and quality of life.

How can you as a researcher relate to and drive impact? What do funders actually mean when they ask for impact in their grant applications, and what does impact mean within an innovation context?
