KI Lifestyle4Health network seminar

Description

Speaker: Dan Andersson, GIH https://www.gih.se/om-gih/personal/dan-andersson

Before starting his PhD work at The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences in 2020, Dan worked for more than 10 years at the University of Borås where he initiated and led the free standing courses on “Physical activity and health” and “Health, lifestyle, and change in the individual”. His doctoral project aims to understand more about how different environmental factors, such as greenery, noise and topography, affects our propensity to walk in general and to commute by foot in particular. Slightly simplified, he examines "push and pull factors" in relation to active commuting and the physical environment. Dan has written educational books for high school on the topics of sports and health and one on physical activity and health for higher education. His latest book titled ”Åstrandtestet – Om pionjärskap och utveckling inom arbetsfysiologisk teori och praktik”, published in 2022 discusses the researchers Irma and Per-Olof Åstrand and their contribution to the field of working physiology.
