Professor Yutaka Suzuki, Department of Computational Biology and Medical Science, University of Tokyo.

Professor Suzuki is heading a front-line sequence laboratory at the University of Tokyo, which include several Illumina NoveSeqs, one MGI T7 as well as a series of single cell- and spatial sequencing platforms, such as 10X Chromium, Visium and Xenium. Professor Suzuki makes use of these platforms in domestic and international collaborations and have published approximately 50 papers as a result of international collaborations (e.g., Pascarella et al. Cell 2022). At the same time, professor Suzuki pursues his own research in single cell and spatial analysis of cancers (Sakamoto et al. Nat Com. 2022). In addition to adapting these pre-existing platforms, he also develops new methods, such as long read methylation analysis (Seki et al NAR 2021) and full-length transcript analysis (Oka et al Genome Biol 2021), which he makes available to the research community.
