Lectures and seminars Grants Office information webinar: SSMF´s Large Grant
The Swedish Society for Medical Research (SSMF) announces start-up grants for young researchers, SSMF´s Large Grant. Professor Gunnar Schulte, scientific secretary at SSMF, will present the call, give a few tips on how to write a successful grant application and answer questions.
SSMF announces a four-year start-up grant to support young researchers working full-time or half-time, half-time grants being intended for clinically active researchers. The start-up support is awarded for two years, with a two-year extension subject to approval of a scientific report. The objective is to offer promising young scientists an opportunity to establish themselves as independent researchers. The support is aimed at PhDs with post-doctoral qualifications. Full-time positions may be combined with a part-time occupation (maximum 20%), such as clinical practice. Persons who, at the time when the research grant agreement is signed, hold a teaching post (assistant senior lecturer, senior lecturer, professor) or a research post extending over several years funded by a national or international funding provider are not eligible to apply.
The grant includes funds for salary for employment as a researcher or equivalent. For full-time employment, the amount is SEK 800,000 per year. For half-time, salary costs equivalent to 50% of current clinical practice are covered, though up to a maximum of SEK 800,000 per year and this is combined with half-time clinical practice. In addition to funds for salary, the grant recipients receive SEK 900,000 per year as a grant to cover operating expenses. A maximum of 20% of the grant might be used to cover indirect project-related costs.
The webinar will be held in English.
