Abstract

Professor Philippe Vernier is heading a department combining evolutionarydevolopmental neurobiology and neurogenetics. He is known for his studies of the evolution of the different catecholamine systems in Chordates, with the aim of understanding how these systems has been recruited during evolution, and how their dysfunction contributes to disorders like Parkinson’s and ADHD. Another goal is to better understand the role of the different genes which govern the formation and the organization of the telencephalon, hypothalamus and diencephalon.
