Lectures and seminars Functional precision cancer medicine: biological insights and clinical translation
Cancer Core Europe lecture
Speaker: Olli Kallioniemi, Dept of Oncology & Pathology, Karolinska Institutet & Science for Life Laboratory, Stockholm
Host: Ingemar Ernberg
With progress in ex-vivo cancer model systems, it is possible to directly explore the response patterns and vulnerabilities of cancer cells to 1000s of drugs and drug combinations. We use acute myeloid leukemia as a proof of concept disease for precision cancer medicine. We apply multi-omics molecular
profiling and functional assays to discover novel therapeutic concepts, map drug response landscapes and associated biomarkers and molecular mechanisms.
Olli Kallioniemi is Director of the national Science for Life Laboratory in Sweden, and professor of molecular precision medicine at KI. Olli is known for his contributions to cancer genetics, molecular pathology and tech development (FISH, CGH, tissue microarrays, HTS technology).
