Lectures and seminars External MBB seminar: John Ngai "Illuminating Stem Cell Trajectories and Cellular Diversity in the Nervous System"
Seminar with invited speaker John Ngai, Roderick Flower, Coates Family Professor of Neuroscience, Director, QB3 Functional Genomics Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley, USA. Title: "Illuminating Stem Cell Trajectories and Cellular Diversity in the Nervous System"
John Ngai is a molecular biologist interested in unraveling the complexity of the vertebrate nervous system using molecular, genetic and genomics approaches. This talk will describe two complementary efforts in the Ngai group on the mechanisms underlying neural stem cell self-renewal, neurogenesis and regeneration in the olfactory epithelium adult stem cell niche; and the characterization of the diversity of cell types in the mouse brain using single cell transcriptomics and gene editing techniques.
