Building on the webinar (prior attendance at the webinar is not required) “Rethinking Frustration: How Setbacks Spark Resilience and Innovation,” this digital workshop invites participants to explore the deeper emotional landscape of frustration—beyond anger, toward its subtler forms such as disappointment, sadness, and self-doubt.

Through The Cypress Method, affective scientist and coach Dr. Hannaneh Yazdi guides participants in recognizing frustration not as failure, but as an emotional signal for growth and creativity. Drawing on research-based insights from psychology and affective neuroscience, the interactive workshop blends reflection, dialogue, and practical exercises to help researchers strengthen emotional agility and resilience. Participants are encouraged to come with an exploratory mindset and openness to sharing and receiving. In this 3-hour interactive session, participants will:

  • Explore the hidden layers of frustration and their emotional triggers
  • Reflect on personal needs related to goal setting, achievement, and communication
  • Learn practical tools to transform emotional setbacks into clarity, motivation, and innovation

Inspired by the cypress tree, rooted, flexible, and ever-adaptive, this workshop helps researchers cultivate emotional strength and creative energy in the face of uncertainty.
