Lectures and seminars Crossing Borders webinar – “Building Cirqle Biomedical: From biopolymer research to the development of a contraceptive"

A warm welcome to the next Crossing Borders webinar with Thomas Crouzier.
Thomas Crouzier, KTH The Royal Institute of Technology
The Crouzier group at KTH and AIMES has been developing approaches to engineering the mucus gel that covers our wet epithelium. The discovery that the mucus barrier properties can be effectively reinforced by topical treatments with muco-adhesive polymers has led Dr. Crouzier to co-found Cirqle Biomedical, a startup developing a new on-demand, effective, safe and non-hormonal contraceptive for women.Cirqle Biomedical has now signed a $370M co-development and licensing deal with Organon to further the development of the product. During this seminar, Dr. Crouzier will highlight the scientific and personal journey that led him to this entrepreneurial venture.
