Welcome to a seminar with Professor Ulrica Edlund, expert in polymer synthesis and functional materials design, with a focus on sustainability and green chemistry.

Title

"Biomacromolecules – bottom-up strategies for materials design and application"

Presenter

Professor Ulrica Edlund, Fibre and Polymer Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technolgy

We are happy to welcome Prof. Edlund who is an expert in polymer synthesis and functional materials design, with a focus on sustainability and green chemistry. She develops materials and advanced formulations from renewable resources from terrestrial and marine biomass. Inventions include bioplastics, films, coatings, microspheres, and hydrogels based on biopolymers from wood pulping, algae, and agricultural waste. Edlund will present how her work translates to a wide range of biomaterials applied in patients and the health care environment.

Host

Agneta Richter-Dahlfors, Karolinska Institutet, Department of Neuroscience

Crossing borders is a seminar series focusing on interdisciplinary sciences, organised in collaboration with KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
