Welcome to the second lunchtime webinar in our series Climate Health Talks. This time we will be discussing the health impact of heatwaves and what Sweden is doing to improve our preparedness.
Programme:
- Presentation by Andrea E. Schmidt, from the department of Climate & Health at the Austrian National Public Health Institute, on the health impacts of heatwaves, with a focus on concepts of population vulnerabilities and adaptation strategies.
- Presentation by Jorge H. Amorim, from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), focusing on new tools developed to improve the adaptation to heatwaves in the Swedish context.
- Questions and discussion
The talk will be moderated by Christofer Åström, researcher at the Department of Public Health and Clinical medicine, Umeå University.
