Lectures and seminars CBB seminar: What's on the LINE? Often forgotten assumptions and their impact on regression results
The Centre for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CBB) presents a seminar in biostatistics with Dr. Henrike Häbel.
Title: What's on the LINE? Often forgotten assumptions and their impact on regression results
Speaker: Dr. Henrike Häbel
Everyone worries about the normality assumption before conducting a t-test or fitting a linear regression model. In this seminar, Dr. Henrike Häbel will focus on the other, often forgotten assumptions in linear regression and similar methods. She will also point out important and often overlooked implications of assumption violations on statistical inference — for example, can we still trust our p-values if the equal variance assumption is violated? She will also address the impact of outliers and influential observations.
