CBB invites you to a workshop on data visualization and how to produce publication-ready figures in R.

Data exploration is often the first step of data analysis and can be used to assess the size, completeness and correctness of the data. In this workshop you will learn two techniques for data exploration: summary statistics and data visualization. From an example dataset we will let R automatically generate a descriptive statistics table. In clinical papers this is often the first table containing the patient characteristics or patient demographics. The R code for this is surprisingly simple and saves a lot of time compared to manual calculations. The table can be customized, e.g. separate different patient groups or change which summary statistics are presented, and it can be exported to excel. In part 2 of the workshop, we will use the popular R package ggplot2 to create beautiful boxplots, barplots, histograms and Kaplan-Meier plots. We encourage you to bring your own computer with an installation of RStudio (Posit), R and Rtools.

The workshop is free and open to everyone at KI/KS in Flemingsberg. We welcome those new to R, or with the desire to refresh their knowledge.
