Centre for bioinformatics and biostatistics (CBB) presents a seminar with Dr. Alessandro Gasparini, biostatistician at Red Door Analytics
Title: Joint models for longitudinal and survival data: a tale of three stories.
Abstract
Joint models for longitudinal and survival data have been increasingly popular in the medical literature over the past few years. They provide an attractive modelling framework for follow-up studies where the main focus is on the association between a longitudinal outcome (such as a biomarker repeatedly measured over time) and a time-to-event, survival outcome. This seminar will provide an introductory overview of joint modelling while focusing on three common areas of application: survival analysis with time-varying covariates, longitudinal analysis with informative dropout, and dynamic risk prediction.
