Welcome to the first seminar in the CBB Bioinformatics Introductory Seminars: "An introduction to RNA sequence analysis and typical applications" with Anastasios Damdimopoulos.

Anastasios Damdimopoulos will present an overview of the RNA sequencing technique. The focus will be on high level concepts of the RNA sequencing technique omitting the very technical details of the methodology and the downstream analysis pipeline. He will discuss what can be expected to extract from an RNA sequencing experiment, how to interpret the findings and routinely performed analyses such as identifying significant genes and what processes those genes are involved in. In addition, Anastasios will discuss ways to present RNA sequencing results, go through some types of plots found commonly in RNA sequencing papers and how to interpret them. Finally, he will briefly touch upon some less common analysis to further explore and maximize the output of data.

The seminar will be held in the building Neo in Flemingsberg, but also on Zoom. Before the seminar, a limited number of sandwiches and drinks will be served on a “First come – first served” basis starting at 12:00. The seminar will be held in English.
